Fits cooking delivers cookery sessions to groups and organisations throughout Scotland. At this time I have personally delivered over 2,000 session in the Edinbrugh & Lothians, focusing on the many issues around food insecurity and poverty.
Participants have ranged from age 2 to 82 all with different issues and interests around food and with a range of skill levels.

“I firmly believe that cooking is a skill for life. It’s a practical skill that can be learned, but, also a root to good health physical mental and social. A great way to build confidence and self-esteem. It’s also a great deal of fun!”

-Pat Tweedie

My aim is for the sessions to be inspirational and aspirational and focused on the fun and joy of gaining new skills.
Having returned to the Montrose area 5 years ago, I am looking forward to being able to focus the challenges of food insecurity. This is not just financial. Its about lack of skills, knowledge, equipment. This can range from fuel consumption, addressing food waste, budgeting, meal planning and nutrition.

My vision is to create a cookery school encompassing multiple projects in the Angus area. Delivered by me with my volunteers with the fits cooking values and passion tailored to different groups, skill levels, needs and age ranges. They are:

Fit for life – Cookery life-skills

Fit Physically – Healthy eating sessions

Fit Mentally – Food and mood sessions

Fit Financially- Cooking on a budget sessions

Fit For Kids:

I have a small team of enthusiastic volunteers ready and willing and able to ensure Fits Cooking continued success. I’d like to grow that team and offer volunteering and training opportunities.

Fits Cooking is run on the principle being for the social good.
We are currently working towards CIC (Community Interest Company) status. This means that none of the profits taken for personal gain but reinvested in the project.

If you are attending one of our paid sessions then you are supporting the work of the rest of the Fits Cooking. Thank you!

“Both of my girls thoroughly enjoyed Pats cookery sessions. They learnt lots of different cooking skills and made a varied range of food from starters to mains and desserts. They loved coming home and eating what they made. “
